The Center for Mathematical Studies (formerly CMAFcIO - Center for Mathematics, Fundamental Applications and Operations Research) is a R&D Unit dedicated to research in the Mathematical Sciences, ranging from the Foundations to its Applications, which aims at playing a key role in the research in Mathematics both in Portugal and abroad.
Hosted at the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Lisbon, we focus on producing and communicating research with international impact, on strengthening our advanced training programs, and furthering our established collaborations with researchers abroad and partnerships with respected institutions.
Our main Scientific Areas are:
- Mathematical Analysis
- Mathematical Physics and Continuum Mechanics
- Geometry and Topology
- Operations Research and Optimization
- Mathematical Logic
- Algebra and Combinatorics
